Our Executive Chef, Akito Yoshioka


People call me, 'Chef Yoshi'. 

I moved to the States with my family in 1998 from Japan.

In Tokyo, I earned my skills at traditional Japanese restaurants, hotels, as well as Teppanyaki and Okonomiyaki restaurants. At my last position I was not only a General manager at a hotel in Waikiki, but as an executive chef, which really helped me to learn more about both the restaurant management and the cooking skills.

In 2002, I started my own restaurant with my wife, Julie for 13 years in Kailua town and 

opened a Bento & Catering business, Coco Bento in Kalihi since 2014.

I take my pride in my passion of cooking and serving the best food with all my heart to customers. I will continue to do my best job with our best team and my wife, Julie who is a Sommelier for  Wine & Sake, is in charge of dining operation.
